I’ve grown in motorsport family and lived nearly all my life surrounded by rally cars. My father is a famous and successful rally driver in Finland. I’ve seen and lived in his rally career and learn to will of winning.
My career started in season 2001 from Finnish youngsters rallysprint class. I’ve been learning a lot with MSport and Ford Motorsport in World Rally Championship before joigning Volkswagen Motorsport Team in 2013. After finishing 2nd of the World Rally Championship in 2014 and 2015, we had a difficult season in 2016 and we close the championship at the 6th position overall. 2017 was the year of the changes as we joined a new team : The TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team. We started in the best way with a victory in Rally Sweden and ended 4th of the drivers’ standings at the end of the season. 2018 was a tough and good year at the same time. Difficult times with 3 retirement in a raw but good results too with 5 podiums finishing with a great victory in Australia! 2019 was a difficult season for us. But 2021 brought new challenges for me as I’ve been appointed Team Principal of TOYOTA GAZOO Racing World Rally Team. A new challenge in my heart team.
